About the Book

Prelude

The bite that changed history 

A beautiful, slender feminine hand reaches forth hesitantly, trembling slightly with a strange uncertainty, and then this hand suddenly and abruptly grasps and bites a beautiful fruit— a forbidden fruit! With this one bite, everything changes! The destiny of humanity and the course of history for ages to come change forever. With the forbidden eating of the fruit of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, Adam and Eve have plunged humanity into a world of pain and misery. It now becomes a world of death, darkness, woe, and lostness from which all of man’s wisdom, power, and progress cannot save himself. But there is also a promise of hope and grace from the God whom they had disobeyed. One is to come who would save them.

The Bible’s first book, Genesis, after an essential short introduction and first chapter, continues the story in chapter 2 with the fascinating events in the garden of Eden, where all of human history began and eventually will be consummated in a new glorious paradise restored. This will be a true history because history is His story.
